• From Feb 2016: Presently working at OpenTech Media: True to the nature of small businesses where everyone does a little bit of everything, I don multiple hats, though my title is that of an Office Manager. OpenTech Media provides marketing and online training solutions and is based in downtown San Jose.

• From August '07 to January '12: Ran my own small business, a book lending library, 'Pradnya's Book Club' in Pune, India

o Besides effectively running the day-to-day operations, I successfully managed business liaisons and two employees
o Ran creative writing summer workshops for children 8 to 15
o Was one of the first libraries in the city to start a home delivery system that was linked to the cloud-based library software I used

• During the time frame of 2007 – 2009, I wrote several case studies for a book on Entrepreneurship in India, titled “From Entrepreneurs to Leaders”. The book written by Shirish Deodhar, a well-known IT entrepreneur in Pune, was published by McGraw-Hill in 2010
o Liaised with and interviewed the founders and entrepreneurs either in person or telephonically, besides doing independent research for creating content for the case studies
o My time management and multi-tasking abilities went up several notches while working on this project, as I was also running my own business at the same time

• From December '05 to June '06: Worked for an NGO (Non-Government Organization) called CASP (Community Aid and Sponsorship Project)
o Primary tasks included researching and fact-checking, editing, and proofing all their documentation
o The highpoint of this job was planning for and being the host for an International conference on elder abuse. A few hundred members from countries around the world as well as UN officials participated

• From November 2004 to June 2005: Worked at Seacom Technology Pvt. Ltd. as a Business Support Executive where I:
o Coordinated the AS/400 training program conducted there, including sourcing students
o Successfully placed graduating students by:
? Corresponding and interacting with the HR departments of various multi-national companies and scheduling tests/ interviews for our trainees accordingly

• Started my professional career in June 1995 at the Indian Express, a leading English daily in India, as the Art and Culture coordinator and Features writer
• Was an active volunteer at my kids’ High School PTSA and have designed their monthly newsletters and worked as their Historian. I make time for Kathak (an Indian Classical dance form) which I have been learning for the past 3 years
