WORK EXPERIENCE

SELANGOR STATE GOVERNMENT – (Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA) 2015 – 2017
Project Director, Selangor Wellness Living Expo

Appointed by the Selangor State Government to coordinate its inaugural Wellness Living Expo in 2015 and was later invited to lead administration for the 2nd Selangor Wellness Living Expo in 2017. The events included Health Talk Panels, Exhibition, Press Conference and Networking Reception. Worked diligently to achieve quality event production to include, but not limited to, negotiations with media partners and sponsors, exhibitors, contracts, venues, food and beverage, event public relations, media and marketing.

Project Accomplishments:

1ST & 2ND SELANGOR WELLNESS LIVING EXPO 2015, 2017
• Planned and organized to meet event deadline in 6 months for the 1st & 9 months for the 2nd
• Booked and managed a range of 13 - 23 speakers for the 2 & 3 Day Health Talk Panels
• Recruited 50 - 76 exhibitors for 70 - 94 exhibition booths
• Organized a Press Conference for 100 - 150 media partners and guests
• Engaged 8 - 15 media partners and sponsors
• Managed 2,000 - 3500 visitors from the general public
• Led and managed a team of 50 - 80 staff responsible for event coordination activities
• Successfully managed a budget of RM530,000.00 (US$130,000.00) and RM850,000.00 (US$200,000.00)
• Coordinated and monitored event timelines; reviewed and analyzed evaluations, and prepared 2,500 - 4,000 copies of program materials for the event
• Managed on-site at the pre, during and post event

Results: 1st SWELL 2015 is the first State Medical Tourism Expo in Malaysia, State of Selangor positioned in the top 3 medical tourism destination in Malaysia, and successfully generated a growth of 10% medical tourism patients from the Southeast Asia Region.


MALAYSIA HEALTHCARE TRAVEL COUNCIL, MINISTRY OF HEALTH MALAYSIA 2012 – 2014

Organized a one-of-a kind expo for its medical tourism project and also served as the lead for the Malaysia International Healthcare Travel Expo in 2012 and 2013. It included Conference, Exhibition, Familiarization Trip, Press Conference, Networking Reception and Gala Dinner. Directed, supervised and governed MIHTE to achieve quality event productions from negotiations with media partners and sponsors, exhibitors, contracts, venues, food and beverage, travel arrangements, event public relations, media and marketing. Developed and implemented product packaging within the hospitals and targeted stakeholders. Coordinated, planned and executed CEO Summit for the hospitals’ CEOs and Marketing Personnel. Committee Member of The Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2013 (MIGF). Coordinated, planned and executed networking events within the hospitals, expatriate groups, hoteliers, travel agencies, financial institutions and multinational companies. Acted as Country Manager for Bangladesh market whereby monthly Health Talk Workshops and Continuing Medical Education were conducted in Bangladesh that involved hospitals and healthcare consultants from Malaysia. Successfully coordinated, planned and executed 2 International Expos held in Malaysia.

1ST & 2ND MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL HEALTHCARE TRAVEL EXPO 2012, 2013
• Planned and organized to meet event deadline in 6 months for the 1st & 9 months for the 2nd
• Booked and managed a range of 50 - 103 speakers and moderators from 24 - 40 countries for the 2-Day Health Talk Panels
• Recruited as many as 84 exhibitors from 8 countries for up to 100 exhibition booths
• Recruited 1,300 – 1,500 conference delegates from a roster of 36 countries
• Organized a Press Conference for 180 - 250 media partners and guests
• Engaged 32 - 82 media partners and sponsors from 8 countries
• Managed conference breakout sessions in 5 different languages
• Led and managed a team of 100 - 150 staff responsible for event coordination activities
• Managed a Familiarization Trip of 140 - 180 delegates from as many as 28 countries
• Successfully managed a budget of RM2.2MM (US$580,000.00) and RM3.2MM (US$860,000.00)
• Coordinated and monitored event timelines; reviewed and analyzed evaluations, and prepared 2,000 – 3,000 copies of program materials for the event
• Managed on-site at the pre, during and post event

Results:1st MIHTE 2012 is the first International Medical Tourism Expo in Malaysia and successfully positioned Malaysia in the top 5 medical tourism destination in the world. 1st MIHTE 2012 generated a growth of 30% medical tourism patients from Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam. 2nd MIHTE 2013 has positioned Malaysia in the top 3 medical tourism destination in the world and has successfully generated a growth of 50% medical tourism patients from Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Middle East, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.
