Film Lab Assistant/Clerk
To whom it may concern:
As a senior Film student at the University of Toledo, I am looking to integrate what I’ve learned in the academic setting as I acquire expertise as an intern for your establishment.
My passion is film. As I’ve gained knowledge and skills in preproduction, producing, cinematography, video editing, and postproduction (neutralizing, color grading, etc.), I want to know and do more. Currently, I am in preproduction on three student films that will wrap up in May 2017. Although it is a lot to balance, these experiences provide the opportunity to pull together what I’ve learned in my Screenwriting, Producing & Production Management, Cinematography, and Documentary and Field Production courses.
In addition to my studies, I have worked for the University of Toledo Film department during the last year. Primarily, I organize, maintain, and checkout equipment to faculty and students. However, I perform any duties that are needed, including answering the phone, scheduling, room setups, ordering supplies, filing, installation of computer software, trips to Home Depot and even painting the studio floor.
Aside from my experiences in academic film production and assisting the university’s film department, I previously worked for five years in retail and one year as a truck loader at UPS. While these jobs are not directly applicable to the internship, they instilled within me the importance of teamwork, organization, communication, and initiative to succeed.
Although I recognize that the application process is very competitive, I hope to hear from your HR representative so I can get started ASAP.
