My name is Jonah Salazar y Tafoya and I’m an aspiring photographer/cinematographer. I recently graduated from Columbia with a major cinematography and worked in photography. Now, I'm searching to become part of a professional team and join the industry.
I’ve been apart of the film and photo industry for almost 11 years. When I was younger I started off in front of the camera in commercials. I am now behind the camera, working on movie sets, music videos and creating photoshoots for my personal art.
My family has always been in some part of the industry and I am trying to find my way in it now.
I recently worked for a camera rental house which helped introduce me into the needs and way of the industry. I am proficient with a wide array of professional cameras, lighting gear, lenses and become a fast learner. I work well in Lightroom, Photoshop, Premier, Microsoft office and am willing to learn what ever programs are needed. I am always looking to better my video shooting and editing skills as well. I work well with other and I’ve learned a lot from the people and teams I have worked with. I can always focus down on my own as well.
I am now used to working in fast-paced environments and able to keep a calm mind under pressure. I’ve worked a lot in customer service so I know how important it is to make sure the client is pleased.
When it comes to my personal work I do believe I have a unique eye. I come from a diverse background and being a minority gives me a different perspective. I can be extremely attentive to details and like presentations to be as neat as can be.
My goal for this job is to gather more skills and gain more experiences in the industry. But to also become a crucial member of the team and produce quality work that your company will be proud of.
