Pond Hill Farm is a northern Michigan agricultural tourism destination that started as a vegetable farm in 1995. It has since become a unique community ecosystem by adding an expansive canned goods product line, a full service lunch café, a winery with seven acres of vineyards, and a brewery. This has created an environment that attracts tens of thousands of customers each year who come from all around the country to enjoy the experience.

Responsibilities

● Proficiency in all aspects of lunch service and daily kitchen operations.

● Oversee prep cooks and trains new BOH staff

● Responsible for writing daily prep list (coordinate with chef when necessary

regarding prep levels, low stock items, and special event prep)

● Responsible for controlling flow of food from kitchen during lunch service and

communicating low count items, 86 items, and times when kitchen is backed up to

service staff and chef

● When scheduled to do so, assist with special event prep, set up, execution, and

kitchen closing.

● Ensures all health and food safety regulations are followed

Qualifications

● One year experience as a prep cook and two years experience as a line cook

● Must have ServSafe certification or successfully complete certification within one

month of start date

● Respectful and clear communication skills

● Ability to multi-task in fast pace environments with a positive attitude

● Friendly, energetic and good interpersonal skills

● Ability to follow instructions

● Attention to detail

● Excellent decision making and organizational skills

● Team player and problem solver

● No smoking on property

● Have reliable transportation and be punctual

● Have flexible availability for work hours and schedule

● Must be able to work inside and outside in various weather conditions

Compensation and Benefits

● Schedule: Seasonal – hiring for July start date through November 16, 2019. Full-

time 35-45 hours per week between 9:30am - 6:30pm, 5 days a week (weekdays,

weekends, holidays and some early evenings); occasional hours during later evenings.

● Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour, dependent on experience and room & board needs
