Adjunct / PT: evening classes for adults, multiple levels
About Us (FLC) / Description:
Created in 2012 and rooted in an “edu-preneurial" concept which challenges the boundaries of foreign language education, FLC seeks to grow its unique adult language-learning community.
FLC Culture: We aspire to build a sense of community and connection, through a larger vision tied to cultural awareness and language learning. We use and practice language in a relevant social context, based on our uniquely FLC-created innovative curriculum.
Teachers to lead 2 classes per session (assuming full enrollments): M and W evenings, 6:15 & 7:30pm and Saturday 'cafes', 11 a.m. - 12:30pm (totals 6.5 hrs weekly);
Language instruction via our in-house FLC created curriculum (no need for extensive creation weekly!) with a proven model and methodology;
Class management includes weekly engagement with class via online curriculum platform (all courses created and managed by FLC admin); occasional creation of audio files, answer keys, etc.
Requirements / Ideal Candidate:
Holds or working towards minimum level of education: MA in the target language OR native speaker with teaching certificate & significant experience in language teaching;
Possesses dynamic personality with positive energy;
Goes above and beyond to attend our cultural events (e.g. movie nights, museum visits using target language, etc.), a culture of engagement fosters language acquisition!
Availability for min. 1 year commitment (many teachers with us years...);
Sessions run for 12 weeks (fall and spring) and 8 weeks (summer); classes 2x/ week evenings & Sat. ‘cafes’;
Teachers required at 1 monthly meeting / teacher training workshop and at 2 or 3 events during the session;
Being part of a dynamic, engaged team with opportunities to advance to Language Team Leader, and beyond;
Strong growth trajectory company with opportunities for teaching / leading future online classes, new satellite programs, management roles
Professional enrichment & pedagogy / teacher training workshops; paid conference attendance for language pedagogy (typically Tx Lang. Ctr. at UT)
Innovative proprietary curriculum exists via online platform, as classroom-ready (though we invite enriching our content and your personal touches!)
