Fitness Studio in Springfield, VA is looking for one Group Fitness Coach/Personal Trainer to join our awesome team and growing business!

SUMMARY: The Coach/Trainer leads members through specific (Bodyweight/Calisthenics/Functional Fitness) Workouts. The Coach/Trainer educates participants about training and safe techniques to assist them in achieving exercise goals and creates a fun workout environment for all populations pursuant to the studio's Standards of Excellence. We want coaches that can lead members through individual exercise activities in a group and personal training setting with a great attitude and a fun personality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Educates members on safe techniques and guidelines of calisthenics
Greet all members and orients new participants
Instructs class to the ability level of the individual members participating with modifications as needed
Works with participants to achieve fitness goals
Encourages new participants and coach them through the workout
Utilize studio's 'gym management platform' for personal class and training scheduling
Comply with all of studio's company policies and procedures
Instructs group exercise classes according to company standards
Starts and finishes class on time as scheduled
Stores all equipment neatly and appropriately
Attends instructor training's and manager’s meetings
Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
Answer and screen phone calls as needed
Organize and schedule meetings as needed
Maintaining office cleanliness and organization of resources
Participates in studio's community and local events
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS: The position will report to gym management and ownership. The Coach/Trainer has interaction with participants to ensure that exercises and training are performed in a safe and effective manner.
Ability to deal with a diversity of individuals
Ability to communicate with people of all age groups
Strong Communication skills
Knowledge of safe calisthenics exercise technique and principles
Ability to effectively demonstrate and cue all skills being taught to participants
Possess the ability to follow directions
Maintains a professional attitude toward responsibilities, fellow instructors, management and members.
Be punctual and exhibit a positive attitude.
Project a professional image through dress, behavior and attitude.
Must be outgoing, energetic and able to perform in front of an audience.
Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing documents
Excellent customer service skills and courteous phone manner
Time-management and organizational skills
Minimum certifications/educational level:
Current Group Exercise approved certification is preferred
Current Personal Training approved certification is preferred
MUST HAVE CPR CERTIFICATION
Additional training in specialty formats of studio will be required and taught to the new hire
Prior six months experience coaching/participating in group fitness activities is preferred.
Proven experience as an outstanding front desk attendant/receptionist is preferred
Personal Training experience needed
We will also train the right coach with limited experience in studio's specific progressions, systems and sales
Ability to properly demonstrate exercise techniques and many bodyweight-type exercises.
