The Child Care Associate Teacher assists in the planning, organization and implementation of childcare program.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Plan, prepare, supervise, implement and evaluate a program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the YMCA of Orange County.
Maintain a positive controlled environment while meeting the needs of all children.
Maintain an attitude of dignity and respect toward children, parents and staff.
Maintain a clean environment.
Attend all staff meetings and training's.
Maintain an open line of communication with staff, parents, and the director.
Direct parents to a supervisor if a problem arises.
Follow and enforce safety regulations and other YMCA and school policies, procedures.
Maintain the safety of all children.
Perform other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.


Education & Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 units in Child Development or a related field; and continuous enrollment in a minimum of 2 units per semester toward completion of 12 units required.

Experience & Background: Must be 18 years of age. 6 months experience working with children required. Pediatric (EMSA) First Aid and Pediatric (EMSA) CPR certifications required. Water Safety certificate to be obtained within 1 year.
