Assistant Program Director
Looking for an assistant program director to help run and expand an after school tutoring program in the financial district. The program has been running for over 15 years (previously under a different name) bringing students from all over NYC together with volunteer tutors who help with homework, enforce topics where student is falling behind and even provide advanced math specialized tutoring for High School kids. The program is based in the financial district and meets twice a week after school hours.
The assistant director will be helping administer the program on program days which entails following up with tutors and parents as they arrive at the program or calling in to say they are late or not able to attend. Ensure tutors and kids have all the material they need to start their sessions. Ensure the program is running smoothly including tutoring when necessary. On non program days, the assistant director will be expected to help prepare tutoring packets, test students, assist with fundraising tasks, social media updates and and other projects. The assistant director will report directly to the Program Director and work with board members on various projects.

Comfortable dealing with kids 1st-12th grade; instill order during program hours without alienating kids
Attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, comfortable juggling calls and emails with parents tutors and board members
Strong computer skills with the ability to organize data and produce reports
This is a part time position (15-20 hours a week) while school is in session. Time commitments include program hours: Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-7:30pm as well as office hours located in the financial district.
