Due to the current health crisis many food pantries, soup kitchens, and other emergency food programs have either closed or adjusted their hours and protocols. The objective of the COVID-19 Food Assistance Project is to capture this information so that the public is aware of where and when emergency food resources are available as well as inform the USDA Hunger Hotline as they provide the most up to date resources to those in need.
Volunteers are able to conduct research remotely and will verify and identify resources by directly contacting emergency food programs. Volunteers should be comfortable communicating over the phone and electronically, as well as using web based technology.
