NWABRs mission is to promote the understanding of biomedical research and its ethical conduct. NWABR is dedicated to strengthening public trust in biomedical research, through education and dialogue. Through our diverse membership of academic, industry, non-profit research institutes, health care, and voluntary health organizations and extensive education programs, we foster a shared commitment to the ethical conduct of research and ensure the vitality of the life sciences community.Camp BIOmed is a summer camp open to students entering 9th-12th grade for the upcoming school year. Camp sessions will repeat for 6 weeks between July 8-August 16, 2019.Throughout the summer camps, students will take part in hands-on experiments and track their own findings as part of these experiments in lab journals. Each week of the summer camp will conclude with a culminating expo where campers will share all group and individual projects and contributions. Our staff to camper ratio is 1 adult (instructor) to 14 students.
Job Responsibilities: - Assist the instructors in every possible way/requirement.
The job may include:
-Setting up experiments
-taking student attendance
- Assistance during experiments
-helps instructor in ordering requirements
-supervise campers during lunch
-if required, assist instructor in taking some parts/helping students in experiments
-answering students questions
-help students in making projects
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be passionate about science.
High school or equivalent (Required)
Preferred Qualifications: Experienced candidates having Bachelors or pursuing Bachelors in the fields relating to biology/chemistry, bioethics, biotechnology, or engineering
Time Commitment: - 3-4 hours/day for the 6 weeks of Camp (July 8-August 16)
