Local sports marketing firm is seeking an organized, experienced, detail-oriented, positive personality, professional with interpersonal skills to work as an event assistant and sports marketing intern for the launch of a first-year, fourth quarter corporate event with a charitable component.
Working from offices in West Palm Beach and locations on Palm Beach along with virtual work – up to 20 hours per week. Work can be periodic based on activity. Position is from April, 2019 through October, 2019. The position reports to the company president.
Position summary:
Reporting to and working closely with company president, this position includes research, organization, email marketing, sales support, planning, promoting and coordinating events as well as providing administrative office support.

Responsibilities:
Work closely with event principals, Board of Advisors, event participants, charitable organizations, participating professionals and celebrities, vendors and sponsors in or near Palm Beach and West Palm Beach.
• Compile and manage teams, participants and sponsor lists, in-kind gifts; prepare registration materials and manage details related to the event.
• Manage day of event activities: Registration, event space set-up, awards presentation, itineraries, audio and visual, etc.
• Provide post event support through reporting, tracking of event finances including check requests and donations and preparing follow up correspondence with attendees.
• Manage and coordinate some aspects of social media in conjunction with event.
• Set up marketing and event staff lists, coordination and on-site operations.



• Preferred experience and skills:
• Proven experience effectively coordinating of special events from start to finish (nonprofit special events, sports events party planning, etc.) for small and large groups.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, on the phone, in person, and in writing. Projects a warm, professional manner.
• A high level of personal integrity. Handles confidential information in an appropriate manner.
• Strong administrative and computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Excellent spelling and proofreading skills, especially for ensuring accuracy of names and contact information. Prepares nametags, lists, coordinates media.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills. Effectively multitasks and manages concurrent projects and responsibilities; meets deadlines.
Physical demands and work environment:
• Work in office environment as well as external venues.
• Some out of town (paid) travel may be required
• Ability to transport, lift and carry supplies weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Set up food, beverages, materials and audiovisual equipment for events in office and other locations.
• Local travel with personal vehicle may be required.
