SUMMER SUSTAINABILITY INTERNSHIP
The summer sustainability intern drives optimization of assigned projects, by collaborating with teams and team members to effectively meet designated milestones &/or goals. Occasionally working closely with the Senior Directors & Managers of various departments within the Woodland Manufacturing Facility this role will work to ensure the tracking of key sustainability metrics for the company, reporting of an annual materiality assessment, and leading the charge for moving LAT�s regenerative agriculture program forward. In addition, the intern will partner cross-functionally across the organization and participate in providing awareness of sustainability projects company wide.
Reports to: Director of Sourcing & Sustainability
Location: La Tourangelle Manufacturing Facility, Woodland, CA
Duration: 3-6 months
Pay: $20-23/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
� Planning and Strategic Project Management
� Develop and maintain strong inter-departmental relationships
� Lead data collection efforts, as well as assist in implementation of sustainability drivers, and assist in evaluating supply chain related metrics, including, but not limited to raw materials and packaging
� Lead project relating to baselining and tracking key sustainability metrics for the company, including items like energy usage, air emissions, waste generation, greenhouse gas emissions, water use and water quality, etc.
� Work to expand metrics into lifecycle analysis for some select LAT products &/or supply chains
� Support the creation of an annual materiality assessment, interview LAT leadership, managers, and employees
� Report on employee vision(s) for sustainability, what sustainability looks like to LAT employees
� Reach out to key stakeholder groups and understand what their priorities are
� Track the sustainability programs and priorities of our customers
� Investigate critical sustainability issues in the communities and countries where our major suppliers are located throughout the world, essential input into developing our overall sustainability strategy
� Support our regenerative agriculture program by defining the core program parameters (pull from 2020 pilot)
� Identify basic practices that constitute regenerative farming in various cropping systems
� Interact with key suppliers and leverage the expertise of our sunflower producer in Northern California to customize the program for select supply chains

QUALIFICATIONS

� 2+ years of experience in Sustainability (preferably in food), with 1+ years� experience leading special projects
� Bachelor�s degree in business, food science or a related field. MBA preferred.
� Passion for working with and creating new food products. Professional experience in the food industry preferred.
� Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a strong sense of urgency.
� A proven collaborator with the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams.
� Strong commercial acumen, judgment and understanding of the business and industry.
� Microsoft Office and PC skills.
