Social Media Marketing Intern

Position: Marketing Internship, part-time unpaid (6-8 hours/week)
Internship Duration: One year commitment preferred, 3-6 months is a possibility
Start date: September 2, or sooner

Prosperity Candle seeks an energetic, self-motivated person to research, curate, and develop social media content to support our ecommerce business. This is a part-time, unpaid internship with flexible hours, meeting once or twice a week with an excellent opportunity to gain social media marketing skills. We are happy to coordinate with your college so that you can receive credit or funding and adjust the internship in the direction you choose.

Prosperity Candle is a small social enterprise located in Easthampton, MA that supports women refugees and artisans through candle making. What you will get out of the experience:
-Learn how to work within a small business environment
-Develop your copywriting skills & become familiar with marketing data analytics
-Learn about B Corp, Fair Trade and other socially-minded movements
-Develop social media content for an ecommerce business
-Learn strategies to target a niche customer audience and support business goals through digital marketing

Responsibilities and learning opportunities include:
-Create daily curated content for social media platforms - Facebook, Twitter, and -Instagram- that targets our ideal customer niche and reflects Prosperity Candle’s unique voice, mission, and values
-Curate and create monthly Pinterest boards, identifying & implementing search keywords
-Regularly research outside content (articles, blogs, video) for social media
-Take behind-the-scenes and lifestyle photography of candles and women artisans
-Contribute creatively to marketing meetings and social media content calendar
-Analyze marketing metrics within social media and Google Analytics to inform content strategy
-Research best marketing practices for small businesses for social media and email marketing

-Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest platforms
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to work independently and contribute creative ideas
-Strong research skills
-Positive attitude and strong interest in working in an entrepreneurial environment with a social mission focus
