Social Media Intern

Lake Travis Film Festival is looking for a social media wizard to deepen relationships with our current community as well as gain exposure to new audiences.

Through relevant engaging content, thoughtful responses, careful curation of photos, and the right voice, it is important to bring instill the unique energy of our festival into our daily social media presence.

Our brand is playful, and a bit quirky, we’re just outside of Austin, or as we call it, just west of weird, we love to party, yet we also enjoy meaningful conversations and promoting all aspects of our industry.

We are looking for the right passionate person to treat our accounts like an extension of their own personal social channels. You take deep pride in getting likes, comments, tags, exposure, new followers, etc. Someone who understands this industry is fast-paced and who is available to make changes with brief notice is crucial.

1+ year of social media experience
Up to date understanding of festival culture both on and offline
Responsive and flexible
Excellent writing skills and creativity
Good energy
Work with Executive Director and Programming Team to develop calendar for festival
Use a scheduling tool to set up Create monthly content calendars with daily posts in FB, IG, and Twitter

Be available to drop in timely notices and reminders that are not on the calendar
Build overarching social media strategy to increase engagement and gain new followers
Develop relationships with followers by responding to DMs and comments with insightful thoughts

Monitor other events and festivals to stay up to date on the newest digital tactics
Run on-site socials at events during our festival (Feb. 27th-Mar. 1st)
Work with Film Marketing Director to encourage filmmakers to post about our festival and their screenings

Work with Sponsorship Team to cover LTFF business partners and share the love
Work with Venues Coordinator to promote our hotels and locations

Communicate with graphic designer to make necessary graphics

Create detailed shot lists for photographers at events for future content
Post and explore non traditional platforms ex: Reddit/Pinterest

Report on performance with metrics and brainstorm new ideas with team
