Retail Inventory Manager
The Inventory Retail Manager is responsible for the inventory monitoring, ordering, and merchandising for the retail store. Inventory Retail Managers keep up-to-date on key performance indicators and trends in the industry for maximum store sale efficiencies and appropriate product stock. The Inventory Retail Manager understands and interprets logistics behind inventory necessities and perfectly executes the ordering, distribution, and maintenance of needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess and reconcile all inventories and maintain METRC perfection daily.
Create, monitor, uphold, and enforce all Inventory policies and procedures. Heavy emphasis on accuracy and compliance.
Implement new procedures when warranted, communicate policy changes to all staff. Document all changes.
Communicate with General Manager to help implement effective sales strategies and oversee employee sales training.
Oversee the entire product mix and maintain margins set by Directors. Includes Flower Menu organization/strategy.
Ensure ordering and correct inventory of all products to meet sales needs. Identify underperforming products (Dead Inventory) and research better performing products. Stay up to date with all hype products and maximize ROI for every shelf spot.
Work in conjunction with other Departments to facilitate flower wholesale and trade deals and meet with and negotiate with vendors on pricing and promotions.
Plan and oversee logistics behind inventory production (prerolls/prepacks/etc.).
Oversee the Product Intakes in accordance with METRC and accounting protocols. Includes cash payments, vendor relations, paperwork tracking, product verification, etc. Oversee and finalize Purchase orders.
Walk the floor on a regular basis to ensure displays are properly maintained and stocked.
Improve product knowledge and inventory communications with staff. Assist Managers/Leads in educating staff on products as they are released, as well as educating them on general cannabis information. Continued dialect in regards to communications points for customers.
Keep up to date on and research industry trends, new products, and new rules and regulations. Constantly review competitor analysis for prices and products.
Understand Inventory on all levels (Sales Activity Report to understand the speed in which specific products move, for ordering purposes; Discount percentages to ensure proper margins; Inventory Adjustment Report – checks and balances for Managers and to understand where our losses are occurring.
• At least 21 years of age
• Bachelor’s degree required (management, logistics, and/or business preferred)
• Previous inventory, logistics, and management experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)
• Must be able to occasionally lift 40+ pounds
• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
