Public Relations Intern

Job Position Title: Public Relations Intern

Department: Marketing

Reports To: Public Relations Manager

Facility Location: Edison, NJ

Shift Type: Day

Work Shift: Flexible (based on school schedule)

Position Overview:
The Public Relations Intern reports directly to the Public Relations Manager. The Public Relations Intern will provide administrative assistance to the marketing department for well-known brands such as Polaroid, Kodak and LifePrint.

Main Essential Duties and Functions of Job Position (but not limited to):
-Providing public relations administrative support including research and coordination
-Assisting with event preparation and overseeing organization press coverage/releases
-Maintaining key press reports analysis and other tools to track performance
-Researching industry trends and best practices to spark creative PR ideas

Main Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
-Assist the Public Relations Manager with PR administrative tasks
-Keep track of database management, filing and shipping
-Provide support and coordination for PR events
-Assist with preparing event materials and all PR related matters

Minimum Qualifications:
-Junior/senior year candidate, or recent graduate
-Have knowledge or previous experience in public relations (in-house or agency)
-Have strong writing, listening and verbal communication skills
-Be resourceful, solutions-focused team player
-Be self-motivated and able to work well in a collaborative environment as well as individually
-Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Physical Requirements:
-Must be able to lift up to 15lbs, sit for extended periods of time, stairs, reach, twist, bend, stretch, climb, walk and/or run

Working Conditions:
-Must be able to work shift hours and seasonal changes based on the needs of the business
-Must be able to work in an office/testing lab setting
-Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

-Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the US
-Must be able to read, write and speak English
-Must pass a Background Check
