We’re super proud to have been recently appointed by 28 National Olympic Committees as their Authorized Ticket Reseller to provide hospitality and travel programs to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games for the general public and corporate sponsors.

The Cartan team is looking for a candidate who is passionate about sports, event planning and management to support its operations department. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self- starter. We are looking for that collaborative, keen, team player, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects all while keeping a smile on their face.
Position: Operations Intern
Location: Manhattan Beach, CA
Experience: Entry Level
Required Hours: 20 hours per week. Flexible (9-5:30pm)
Reports to: Operations Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: The Operations Intern will work under the guidance and direction of the Operations Manager to carry out a variety of tasks and responsibilities that will contribute to the overall goals, objectives and initiatives of Cartan Global. This person will work to complete independent projects and/or provide support in the areas of production, event management, vendor procurement, event budgeting, contract administration and post program reconciliation. Hours and focus of work are flexible depending on availability, skills and interests.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning and Development:
o Assist in the planning and development of multiple components all Cartan Global projects o Liaise with Cartan’s partners (staff, service providers and any other key stakeholders) o Develop operational plans that ensure effective and efficient service for all stakeholders (athletes, service providers and other event organizers)
Operations and Logistics: o Inventory management o Updating of daily reports as needed and required o Planning and execution of all event logistics (equipment and signage delivery, installation, pick-ups, deliveries, redistribution and rental equipment) o Set up and tear down of various elements of the events o Provide supervision and training to staff, interns and volunteers
o Attend regular meetings with stakeholders as needed and nurture relationships to ensure the successful delivery and execution and long-term viability of event o Work with and provide support to all events’ guests o Ensure the best possible experience for all stakeholders involved in the events and projects, including, but not limited to: athletes, volunteers, suppliers and staff
Other Duties: o Attend weekly staff meetings and other meetings as required o Submission of regular reports and post-event reports as required o General administrative duties o Other event related duties as required
Passionate about events
High proficiency with MS Software: Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Knowledge in Cvent and Salesforce considered as an asset
Comprehensive internet search and research skills
Strong organizational/time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a commitment to meeting deadlines
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
Bilingual in Spanish/English highly preferred (oral and written)
Ability to read, write and speak Japanese preferred
Work well as an individual and part of a team

On-site event wiz-in-training
• Students pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Hospitality Management, Sports Management, Business
Administration or related field.
• Excellent organization, communication and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Must love Excel.
• Has own transportation
Compensation and Benefits:
This internship will enable the successful candidate to obtain valuable experience in event management and business administration. A weekly stipend of $100 will be paid on the 15th and last day of the month each month. This position may satisfy requirements for earning college credit.
