The intern will be at the forefront of developing video, web, and print communications to effectively convey Global Green's work and achievements, as well as documenting and editing content to be included in blog posts, videos, webpages, and more.
Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to learn about innovative programs in green urban planning (waste diversion, stormwater management) and environmental policy. Communications interns will assist with on-the-ground pilots, researching new innovative technologies, participate in teleconferences and summarize meeting within the industry on key issues.
*Updating / Editing Global Green’s website ------------
*Assisting with Communications around Global Green’s Annual Pre-Oscar Gala
*Maintaining / Updating Global Green’s social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Flickr, etc.)
*Aid with donor outreach, fundraising, and general Global Green Advancement
*Learn about and assist with extraneous Global Green Programs research, development, and overall communication of project work
*Other administrative tasks
Additionally, this intern will get the opportunity to gain experience with a combination of door-to-door events and outreach directly to the general public. This internship offers a wide variety of experiences in communications, including enhancing Global Green's online presence as well as directly communicating with the general public.
*Must be at least a college sophomore in good standing currently enrolled in a degree in film, visual arts, marketing, or a related field. Alternatively, business, economics, natural sciences, environmental studies, public policy, or students with significant knowledge of film and media, journalism and/or graphic design are encouraged to apply.
*Master’s degree students encouraged to apply.
*Interest in environmental issues and methods in green urbanism: recycling, waste diversion, stormwater management, local policy, etc.
*Must have strong writing and research skills.
*Must be a self-starter, flexible and able to manage multiple tasks.
*Must have excellent computer skills or ability to quickly learn various computer programs including: Microsoft programs (Excel, Outlook and Word), Adobe programs (Photoshop, InDesign), and film editing programs (e.g. Final Cut).
*Candidates with graphic and web design are encouraged to apply.
*Prior experience with donor software including Raiser’s Edge, encouraged.
*Must have effective interpersonal communication skills.
Time Commitment: This position is available for a minimum of ten weeks on a part-time or full-time basis.
