GIRLS OF TRANSFORMATION MENTORING PROGRAM: is a CHRISTIAN non-profit charitable organization seeking a female LEAD TEACHER for our Girls with Purpose After School Program. Hours are 1:00-6:00pm (M-F). Experience working with students in grades K-5th. Instructional responsibilities that includes academic enrichment, homework help, light tutoring, and life skills enrichment activities with biblical integration. Must perform administrative and supervisory work in a typical classroom setting of up to 20 female students. The After School Program dates are August 20, 2018 - June 6, 2019. The Lead Teacher will have the opportunity to work for our other programs such as our Girls with Purpose Summer Mentorship Program starting June 10, 2019 (optional) and our Saturday Program Girls with Purpose Mentorship Program (optional). Both are paying positions.
This position guides students in learning to motivate them to reach their academic potential.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
-Prepares and implements lesson planning for each day of the program.
-Instructs students in the various activities providing guidance and coaching.
-Enforces the rules and regulations of the facility and of the given activity.
-Documents the students attendance, incidents, and other observations.
-Conduct assessments and provides feedback to the participant as well as the parents.
-Maintains adequate inventory of program or recreational activity supplies.
-Ensures Program Manager is updated orally or in writing on all activities and is kept informed of any related issues.
-Perform facility maintenance, i.e. garbage disposal and cleaning up.
-Help students with homework, tutor students as needed, and teach entire assigned curriculum utilizing national standards and biblical integration.
-Attend/participate in family enrichment night (quarterly) and other afterschool events scheduled by Program Manager.
-Engage students in academic and social enrichment activities that expand school day learning.
-Model positive guidance and effective classroom management and maintain the safety and well being and attention of all students.
-Must have reliable transportation.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
-High School Diploma or GED
-3 years experience working with students preferably in a after school program and/or summer camp environment in grades (K-5).
REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:
-First Aid/CPR Certification
-Must Pass Level 2 Background Screening
-Valid Florida Driver's License Check
-40 Hours Child Care Training Certification through DCF.

-Ability to be creative with activities for the students. Ability to delegate tasks to assistants and volunteers. Ability to take direction from supervisory staff.
-Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand in hand.
-Excellent Customer Service Skills.
-Computer Skills (Word, Excel, & Power Point).
Fluency in English.
