Stoneleaf Construction, LLC is looking for a construction intern to help within Project Management, Estimating & Purchasing.
•This is a paid internship
•30-40 hours per week.
•Should be comfortable on a construction site
•Job is located in Amenia, NY
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
•Research, identify and broaden subcontractor trade base
•Research and identify alternative products that provide
•Continuously evaluate various procurement processes that can support the company’s unitized cost management strategies and procurement operations
•Assist with establishing purchasing and estimating improvement goals and develop effective strategies for achievement.
•Assist in the development of performance standards for division personnel and provide direction in the assessment of personnel against those standards.
•Work with representatives, identify and communicate best practices regarding estimating utilization; establish effective forums for information sharing and implementing successful practices across projects.
•Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price
•Managing Change Orders
•Following up with subcontractors
•Familiar with various estimating methods, including the use of take-off software.
•Ability to read, interpret and analyze construction documents
•Proficient in typical Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Access and Microsoft Project
•Experience with Sage/Timberline and Estimating Software (E-takeoff) a plus
•In college or have a college degree
•Some understanding of construction management
•Preferable if you are studying construction management, civil engineering or similar.
•Proficiency in verbal and written communications
•Must have strong math and science skills.
