Sea Service Family, Consulting, is looking for a full or part time unpaid Legislative Intern.
Candidates should have, or be pursuing, a degree in Political Science/Government Affairs/Communications/Veterans Affairs. Strong writing and personal skills are a must! An interest and passion for Veterans is highly desirable. Veterans are preferred but ALL can apply!
Interns will be tasked with researching legislation for SSFC relating to Veterans Issues, as well as monitoring and writing After Action Reports on Congressional Hearings of interest such as House and Senate Veterans Affairs Committee hearings. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend meetings with Congressional Staff along with our Owner as well as other meetings off of Capitol Hill. Intern duties will also include administrative tasks i.e.: scheduling appointments.
Our company is also willing to oversee a research project of the intern’s interest if they are pursuing class credit for the internship.
Legislative Interns are expected to commit at least 15 hours per week. Interns who are able to commit 30 hours a week or more may be eligible to be considered for a position in one of our Fellowships. Only a select few candidates will be considered.
