Western Wire is looking for a Human Resources intern for the summer. The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in a HR degree program or have equivalent experience.

DETAILS:

Our Human Resource Manager is looking for temporary help with hiring, onboarding, training, filing, etc. This is a temporary internship and will not include company benefits.

We want to find a current student that is pursuing a HR degree and wants to experience being in a HR role.

The internship session will last 5 weeks to 12 weeks-depending on the intern's availability & WWP needs.

The work schedules will be set with the intern to avoid conflicts (vacations, school activities, etc). It will be a part-time schedule.

About the Internship


HOURS:

Our HR Manager will create a schedule with you to accommodate your needs.

DUTIES

-Assist with the development of workforce strategies, to recruit and develop qualified job candidates.

-Assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with surrounding business, schools, job boards, etc. to promote culture and work availability at Western Wire Products Company.

-Assist with the development, implementation, maintenance, integrity, and effectiveness of the Company�s training, onboarding, evaluation and employee related processes, systems and reports.

-Assist with temporary and temp to hire vendors.

-Assist with benefit administration.

-Assist with all claim related submission and reporting as it relates to disability and worker�s compensation.

-Assist in handling all confidential and non-routine information.

- Perform other duties (essential or marginal) as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

- Follow company policies, procedures, rules, directives, and instructions.

PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE, AND VISION AND HEARING REQUIREMENTS


Physical: Must be able to remain in a stationary position over 80 percent of the time; use hands/fingers and arms to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; grasp; fine and gross manipulation (working with hands); reach at or below shoulder level; reach overhead; sit; stand; squat; stoop; stretch; twist; and walk.

Cognitive: Plan and prioritize; analyze and solve problems; make decisions; concentrate amid distractions; exercise good judgment; organized with attention to detail and accuracy; use math and perform calculations; work with minimal errors; perform well under pressure; adapt well to change.

Vision and Hearing:

Vision: Far visual acuity (clarity of vision at 20 feet or more), near visual acuity (clarity of vision at 20 inches or less), peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Hearing: Hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds (such as alarms, vehicle horns, equipment parts in motion, and vehicles)

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work indoors in a manufacturing office environment; Frequent computer use; Regulated temperatures; Moderate noise levels; When entering the manufacturing plant may have exposure to: warm temperatures in the summer; machinery that generates noise and vibration, has moving parts, and is powered by electricity; excessive noise; and airborne metal particles.
