Harvest Intern

Crocker and Starr has been making wine with the same approach from day one, with a strive toward innovation and sustainability, and an appreciation for continuous learning. Since our founding, Crocker and Starr has been an early adopter of organic farming, sustainable production practices, and mentoring a new generation of diverse wine professionals. As a small boutique winery in the heart of Napa Valley in St Helena, we apply these philosophies on the daily in our estate vineyard and state of the art winery.
We’re looking for two interns to join us for the 2022 harvest season. Our team is small and close-knit so you’ll be working directly with our winemaker throughout the entirety of harvest. You’ll get exposure and training in all aspects of the winemaking process, so with a positive attitude, a curious mind, and an appreciation of working with your hands, you’re set up for a great opportunity whether you’re an expert in the cellar or hoping to enter the wine industry.
Every day in the cellar looks different at a small winery, you can expect to be sampling fruit out in our vineyard, filling barrels, cultivating fermentations, and cleaning shoulder to shoulder with our winemaker and owner. Harvest days are action packed, but we find balance with good food, good music, and keeping the good energy flowing.

Ideal candidate qualifications include:

• A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a great sense of humor
• Ability to work long hours and ability to lift over 50 lbs.
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Provide own housing and transportation, can be provided/organized for out-of-town candidates
• Previous harvest and/or forklift experience are preferred, not required

Pay Rate: $20-25/hour - depends on experience
Start: Beginning of August
End: End of October (flexible)
