Growing Green is proud to offer internships to college students enrolled in college or university in a 2 or 4-year horticulture or landscape-related program.
Areas of Growing Green where the intern can expect to spend time:
Exterior Operations
Installation and ongoing maintenance of residential and commercial landscapes
Seasonal color display installation and maintenance
Pest ID and management
Plant ID
Design and procurement
Site visits
Quality checks
Interior Operations
Installation and ongoing maintenance of residential and commercial landscapes
Color rotation programs
Lighting requirements
Pest ID and management
Plant ID
Sub-Irrigation systems
Design and procurement
Site visits
Quality checks
Holiday Fabrication
Review Sales orders
Review current design selection
Fabrication of items for installation
Storage management
Sales
Lead Generation
Estimation meeting/site review
Design
Creation of proposal
Proposal presentation
Contract administration
Closing the sale/follow-up
Accounting
Receipt of Sales orders
Billing monthly and T & M jobs
Collections
Customer Service
Mission, Vision, Values statements review
Hiring methods/Interviewing
GGI customer service protocol
Creating tickets for service issues
Client communications
Pay offered - $15/hr.
Housing and transportation are to be provided by the intern.
The Schedule can vary, but the schedule for the most day is 8 A.M.-4 P.M – full time.
The timing of the year and the duration of the internship can be flexible.
The potential intern must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
