Communications and Marketing Intern, 10 hours per week
Unpaid, can be utilized as experiential learning/academic credit internship
The Communications and Marketing Intern’s focus is to maximize awareness and engagement of Fredericksburg Nature Academy across the Fredericksburg community. This position is critical in developing a strong brand and implementing marketing strategies.
This internship will provide exposure to various aspects of digital media that may include, but are not limited to: social media, e-mail marketing, and website management. Receive hands-on professional experience and mentorship while enhancing your design portfolio.
Learning objectives are achieved through training, observation, and “learning-by-doing” under close supervision with constructive feedback. This experience will help you learn to build production schedules, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Create a marketing plan (to include social media, posters, in person)
Create social media content and regularly engaging users on Facebook and Instagram
Design logo, marketing materials and website
Run analytics on social media pages, maximize posting times, identify popular content
Gather information for marketing materials including photos, videos, facts, text, etc.
Communicate weekly progress with lead
Represent the program professionally
Desire to gain practical experience in design, communication and marketing
High level of interest in nature and early childhood education
Ability to work collaboratively
Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to changes
Demonstrated experience managing projects
Ability to utilize Canva and WordPress to create content
