Climate Programs Internship
Second Nature is seeking applicants for a Climate Programs Internship that may focus on the following tasks, based on the applicant’s area of interest:
Analyze data on signatory participation and impact
Support staff in researching prospective new signatories and partners
Support creating and writing resources on sustainability topics such as solar energy
Database management and data entry
Other tasks as assigned
Knowledge of basic office and database functions/programs
Excellent skills in research, communication, and attention to detail
Broad understanding of climate, sustainability, and resilience issues
Familiarity with higher education administration and campus sustainability
Ability to support the program management of the Climate Leadership Network by contributing insights and creative ideas
Outstanding candidates may possess some of the following:
Experience with Salesforce and other database/customer management software
Experience with GIS or Google Fusion
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel
Advanced reporting/data analysis capabilities
Social Media Management
A passion for and experience with supporting sustainability and climate leadership initiatives at under resourced institutions.
Second Nature offers a dynamic and creative work environment with a customized experience for each intern designed to be challenging and build desired skill sets. Interns are involved in team meetings and planning efforts. This entry level position will be based in the Downtown Boston office of Second Nature with a flexible work schedule, with approximately a 12-20 hour a week commitment, with direct supervision from Second Nature staff. This is a paid internship, and can also be completed for credit. The internship is for a period of 3 months, depending on candidate availability with the possibility to extend to the academic year based on good performance. This internship would start in June or July.

Students in certificate, associate and bachelor’s degree, graduate programs are invited to apply. A background/interest in business administration, communications, marketing, global studies, sociology, public policy, environmental science, sustainability, resilience, and/or climate change is helpful, but not required.
