Chemistry Lab Intern
CaviSense is striving to transform oral health by bringing early dental diagnostics and monitoring to the home setting. We are a spin-out startup company located at the Harvard Innovation Labs in Boston, MA
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual who relishes the opportunity to participate in fast-paced early-stage startup company and contribute the R&D from the ground floor.
Responsibilities:
Assisting laboratory operations and performing examinations and experiments under the supervision of senior laboratory staff.
Shadow all the laboratory processes, document the observations, and conduct an analysis of the results.
Execute under direction of senior staff: Particle engineering and process chemistry work including lyophilization, heated drying, coating and protype making
Execute chemical analysis under the supervision of senior staff – UV-Vis, FTIR, moisture analysis, and/or particle analysis
Knowledge of scientific procedures, demonstrating their course learnings and lab classes.
Requirements:
Ability to perform routine wet chemical tests
Ability to perform basic instrumental testing including FT-IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy and Moisture analyzers
Ability to prepare laboratory solutions as needed
Maintain documentation in e-lab notebooks
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written English
Computer literacy, with solid PC and laboratory software experience
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs
