Young man with developmental disabilities seeks a person to assist him with activities of daily living, job coaching, and recreational | social activities. His disability is Angelman Syndrome. Days are busy, active and engaging as he participates daily in Highland Friendship Club activities (see their website and Facebook page). Currently due to COVID, all classes are online. Position includes working on developing independence in all settings and facilitating communication skills.
Ideal candidate is a person with career plans in medicine, special education, community integration, speech, physical and occupational therapy, or similar fields. This position may provide you with patient care hours which is a necessary component of the graduate school application process.
Prior experience is a plus although kindness, caring, compassion and a quick study are the most important qualities for the position. Must be responsible, dependable, energetic, attentive and safety conscious. Must be able to make a one-year commitment to the position. Excellent pay and flexible hours.
