Hill House Boston's Athletics Department Internship is an opportunity for a motivated individual looking to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of a youth sports organization. The Athletics Intern will assist in all aspects of Hill House’s athletics classes and leagues in the spring season, providing the community with safe and rewarding recreational and educational opportunities.
Founded in 1966, Hill House is an independent, non-profit community center serving downtown Boston. As a mission, we seek to provide a “backyard in the city” for thousands of children to play sport while we deliver a sense of community to Boston residents. Hill House offers enrichment programs, athletics, seasonal events, summer camps and outreach initiatives to all ages —with emphasis on children ages 6 months-12 years.
As fall is mainly our soccer season, experience in playing, coaching or officiating is a plus. The Athletics Department Internship will be approximately 25-hours a week depending on the weekly schedule and availability. The position will include some evening work (until 7:00pm) and will also need Saturday availability. There will be a blend of administrative office work, as a key part of the Athletics Department Leadership Team, as well as on-field coordination of programs and coaching/officiating youth sports.
The Athletics Department Intern will report to Hill House’s Program Director and Athletics Manager while working closely with many coaches and staff throughout Hill House’s athletics programming. The office is located at 127 Mount Vernon Street, Boston 02108 while athletics fields are in walking distance.
