Shift Manager / Barista Trainer Job Description:

A Shift Manager is a SPoTter that has proven knowledgeable in all four stations and is able to demonstrate exemplary leadership and managerial skills. The Shift Manager�s responsibilities include processing payments using the caf�'s point of sale system, serving food and beverage orders, and ensuring that the caf� is clean and well-presented at all times. You should also be able to oversee the basic maintenance and repair of caf� equipment.

To be successful as a Shift Manager, you should ensure that the caf� employees carry out all duties efficiently. Ultimately, an exceptional Shift Manager should be able to achieve excellent customer service with ease.

Shift Manager Responsibilities:

All responsibilities of the SPoTter
Establish, delegate and oversee duties of SPoTters
Tip Share Distribution
Maintaining the standard of each station shift to shift
Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food or service quality
Supervise the daily cash out and ensure accuracy with remittance forms
Organize, direct and oversee training. Ensure that SPoT Coffee standards for personnel performance and customer service are followed
Strong managerial/supervisory skills including the ability to train employees in properly executing food preparation tasks
Validate all daily tasks are completed by all SPoTters
Shift Manager Position Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year supervisory or leadership experience, preferably with a specialty coffee store
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Provide excellent teamwork and support to employees
Some high volume espresso bar/cafe experience desired
Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities
Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
Uphold a high level of cleanliness
Ensure a top notch guest experience
Sound knowledge of food safety and handling regulations
Working knowledge and understanding of culinary basics and/or espresso drinks
Excellent communication and customer service skills, in person and on the phone
Ability to complete jobs as assigned by management team
Demonstrates initiative, is forward-thinking, conscientious and provides follow-through on areas of responsibility
Ability to work in fast-paced environment, on your feet for duration of the shift
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and frequently bend and twist from the waist
Frequently required to use hand and finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms
Regularly required to handle food, hot beverages, and work with sharp objects
Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Knowledgeable on computers; familiar with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Must be able to adjust vision to both day and night lighting, and be able to focus on distant and close-range projects. Regularly required to handle food, hot beverages, and work with sharp objects
Additional Responsibilities:

� Responsible for the training and development (Barista Training) of all new hires being brought into the company. This is generally 30 hours per new hire.

� Administer the Barista Test and forwarding to Operations and Human Resources for processing and filing.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.75 per hour
