Job description

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Clear federal and state background checks.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites.
Must have a valid Hawaii Driver’s License & insurance in good standing.
Must Provide a current vehicle registration, safety check certificate and state required vehicle insurance.
Must have current 2-Step TB clearance.
Must Acquire prior to working with participants and maintain in-person CPR and First Aid Certification, and Safety Care Training Certification.
QUALIFICATIONS:

MUST BE A CREDENTIALED Registered Behavior Technician for RBT applicants or willing to complete RBT training and become credentialed as a RBT within 6 months for Behavior Technician applicants.
Must maintain certification and ongoing training in crisis intervention curriculum or Safety Care Training.
Must maintain a working email and phone number.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Bend, crawl, jump, kneel, lift, push, pull, run etc.
Use electronic devices for data collection platforms.
Detect by sight and sound unsafe/crisis situations and move quickly to intervene in unsafe/crisis situations.
Assist participants with hygiene routines including toileting (change diapers and/or wet soiled clothing) and bathing if applicable.
Maintain emotional stamina (stability and maturity) to work productively and optimistically for the length of the scheduled work day.
Communicate effectively and politely to participants and their families, co-workers, supervisors and other stakeholders.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Psychology, Special Education or a related field preferred OR Associate’s degree or completion of a minimum of 48 college credits including ENG 100 and MATH 100 OR High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years experience with behavioral supports, evaluation and services for people with developmental disabilities preferred.
One year experience working with adults or children with special needs required.
GENERAL INFORMATION

We offer part-time or full-time positions in the school, clinic, community and home environments.

This is a non-management and non-exempt position and reports to Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This position includes a 90 day probationary period. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a fingerprint check and the provision of appropriately identifying documents to certify eligibility to work in the United States.

Compensation:

Based upon education and experience.
The current starting hourly rate for Behavior Technician (BT) is $17.00
The current starting hourly rate for Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is $22.00
