We are a small but growing 501c3 nonprofit organization with the goal of turning hustles into livelihoods in the 17 wards of New Orleans. We provide free and affordable training and resources to entrepreneurial community members including 1-on-1 business development support, workshops and loan advising. Founded in 2012 as a student-run nonprofit, we have grown into a diverse and robust community of entrepreneurs, partners, professionals and students dedicated to creating economic opportunity for all. ABOUT THE POSITION
The Program Coordinator will build Fund 17’s capacity by assisting across all programs at the Fund 17 Community Business Incubator to ensure effective outcomes as an organization. This includes communications, partner coordination, fundraising and development, improving and standardizing new processes and procedures, data tracking and impact assessment. The Program Coordinator will be trained in entrepreneur intake and Kiva microfinance to provide consultations and advising directly to entrepreneurs as well.

Responsibilities:

Consultations and entrepreneur advising
Provide 1on1 Kiva microfinance advising to potential borrowers and current borrowers to ensure successful applications, fundraising and repayment
Provide consultations to new entrepreneurs, completing relevant intake forms and needs assessment paperwork
Act as the first point of contact for entrepreneurs who call Fund 17 or visit the Community Business Incubator
Assist with scheduling, sending meeting reminders and conducting follow-up for new entrepreneurs as well as entrepreneurs in Core Pipeline Programs

Core pipeline programs
Partner coordination and communication for workshops and program events
Communication with entrepreneurs and partners to ensure effective attendance and outcomes for core programs
Scheduling entrepreneur meetings for BenchMarks

Workshops and community events
Coordinating speakers and marketing for workshops
Attend workshops to make announcements and collect exit surveys
Complete data entry after each workshop in CRM
Work alongside ED on fundraisers and other large-scale events
Community Business Incubator
Act as the host: greeting members and potential members, answering the phone, checking out equipment to members, generally being available to members while they are in the space
Attend committee meetings
Assist with membership payments, work-trade agreements and other incubator membership needs

Outreach and Communications
Represent Fund 17 and our programs in the community at meetings and partner events
Maintain consistent communications with entrepreneurs via our facebook group and text message channel

Systems and Administrative
Maintain database of intake forms and baseline data, assist with the maintenance of entrepreneur profiles
Assist with tracking outcomes and collecting stories to support fundraising and sustainability efforts of our capital access programs

The Program Coordinator works closely with the PD and/or ED on above tasks and projects to ensure effective program outcomes. The PC also helps the ED with grants and financial development for the sustainability of these programs. Other responsibilities possible as assigned. The PC will occasionally need to work evenings for community workshops and events.

Detail oriented, great note taker, comfortable navigating CRMs (or at least very comfortable with learning new softwares), the Google Suite and spreadsheets.

ABOUT AMERICORPS VISTA
The Program Coordinator role is an AmeriCorps VISTA position, managed through Tulane University. “Being an AmeriCorps VISTA member is about making a tangible difference for communities and individuals dealing with some of our Nation's biggest challenges: poverty, inequity, homelessness, and lack of access to education.
