Max-IR Labs, located in Dallas, TX is an early-stage startup developing infrared analytical instrumentation.
Max-IR Labs is seeking to fill the position of Lab Technician. The purpose of this position is to lead the development of state-of-the-art infrared instrumentation for microscopy-based thermal analysis.
The minimal requirements include:
Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Materials Science, Physics, or other Physical Sciences/Engineering with a strong research background in mid-infrared optics and IR tool design
Experience with construction and design of Near-field Scanning Tunneling Microscopy tools
Design, building and alignment of mid-infrared optical bench setups
Must have work experience with piezo elements
In-depth knowledge of lock-in amplification techniques
Experienced with thermal analysis using infrared radiometry
Active knowledge of working under fume hoods and experience with wet-chemistry tools
Experience with application of QCLs in optical setups
Knowledge of FTIR-based photoluminescence and electroluminescence techniques
Good Python coding skills and prior experience with Keras, Tensorflow, and Numpy/Pandas.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, able to work in the dynamic early-stage start-up environment. Must be self-motivated, work well with little supervision, and have a high degree of initiative and follow through.
