Legal Office Services Clerk Job Description
Obiorah Fields is a growing personal injury law firm in located in downtown Jonesboro, GA currently in search of a Legal Office Services Clerk. The Clerk will work at the front desk and serve as the face of the law firm greeting visitors and answering the phone. The clerk is the first point of contact for clients and visitors and maintains a high level of professionalism in speak and dress. This position is ideal for people who enjoy a wide variety of administrative tasks and like to conduct themselves in a polished and professional manner. This is a full time position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Legal office services clerks are responsible for the following duties:
Handling incoming phone calls from prospective clients
Assisting prospective clients with intake paperwork and process
Entering new client and matter information into our client management system
Meeting with potential client and interviewing them regarding their potential claim
Ordering medical records and bills from providers
Reviewing medical records/bills to match dates of service
Developing and managing relationships with providers
Opening and processing new client files
Communicating with clients and insurance and other agencies
Gathering documents
Preparing and sending simple letters
Organizing new client files
Making copies
Processing incoming/outgoing mail, including sorting, scanning, copying, and properly distributing to appropriate departments and team members
Filing documents into appropriate folders
Setting up and maintenance of conference rooms
Providing special project assistance as necessary.
Qualifications
Legal office services clerks are the public face of a law office, so people who enjoy interacting with others professionally and articulately will do well in this position. Other qualification include:
Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills
Typing 60 WPM
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent people skills
Attention to detail
Reliability
Desire to help those in need
Experience with Microsoft Office
Experience with office equipment, including copiers, scanners, as well as
Case management software
Ability to maintain an organized and clean work station


Education, Experience and Training
No formal education is required. Obiorah Fields prefers candidates with a high school diploma and some training in administrative tasks, as well as some experience working in a law office. We provide on-the-job training.
Pay
There is definitely room to grow with the firm. Pay begins at $10 an hour and after a 90 day probationary period, there will be a review for a raise and the potential to receive paid time off. and paid holidays.
Hours are 9: 00 to 5:00 M-F
This position is for immediate hire.
