General Manager

The Front of the House / General Manager (GM) is the lead managing server, overseeing and coordinating all activities of the restaurant including guest and associate relations, scheduling, charitable giving and supply ordering. The GM and the Kitchen Manager (KM) together are the responsible leaders to help the company achieve stated goals in guest service and satisfaction, revenues, costs, associate training and retention, food quality and safety, cleanliness and sanitation, with special emphasis on the front of the house. The Squeeze In prefers to promote from within, identifying servers with excellent potential and grooming them with a manager in training and assistant manager track to learn (and to receive suggestions from them for improvement to) our existing processes and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assure an excellent guest dining experience beginning with a genuine, warm
welcome all the way through proper training, supervision, delegation and follow

through with all associates

*

Keep associates focused on Guest Experience Management (GEM) and help
them to Always Be Connecting Dots (ABCD)

*

Identify, recruit, train and supervise talented servers and hosts
*

Hold associates accountable to marketing and promotional activities and
campaigns redeemed within guidelines

*

Schedule labor as required by projected business activity while ensuring all
positions are staffed when and as needed, while guest service and labor budget

goals are met

*

Train and hold all associates accountable to their duties and responsibilities,
while emphasizing GEM and ABCD

*

Receive and comment on regular associate self evaluations as defined in the
Squeeze In Partnering for Performance program

*

Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs. Administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective and/or disciplinary action for any and all behaviors contrary to Squeeze In values or policies
*

Work with Kitchen Manager to ensure that all food and beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to proprietary Squeeze In recipes, portioning, cooking, serving and health and safety standards
*

Work with catering associates to order, prep, serve and complete catered events
*

Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, restaurant appearance, cost control systems, sanitation and cleanliness through training of associates
and creating a positive, productive working environment

*

Control cash receipts and product inventory by adhering to Squeeze In cash and
inventory handling and reconciliation procedures

*

Assist in the continued development and refinement of policies and procedures
designed to enhance the guest and associate experience, streamline the sales

and delivery process as well as make the company maximally profitable

*

Make and carry out employment, training, disciplinary and termination decisions
*

Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
*

Work with KM to order all food, beverage, service and janitorial products from
approved vendors; monitor and identify opportunities for quality improvement and

cost reduction

*

Continually strive to develop associates to enhance the guest dining experience
and maximize revenues consistent with company marketing communications

strategy

*

Prepare and submit all required paperwork, including forms, reports and
schedules in an organized and timely manner

*

Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent operating condition
through personal inspection and by following Squeeze In preventative maintenance schedules and programs

*

Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations pertaining to health, safety and labor requirements for the health and safety of Squeeze In associates and guests
*

Participate in the Squeeze in leadership development program, including occasional overnight travel for conferences such as the Format events
*

Attend all scheduled associate meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
*

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

*

Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least three years of front-of-the-house operations and/or assistant management positions
*

Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a POS system including preparing reports
*

Possess excellent communication, supervisory, training and delegation skills
*

Be able to multi-task, “keep blinders off” knowing what’s going on in service areas, new guests arriving? Food in window? Table 2 needs check? Table 4
needs go-boxes? Is labor budget on par with sales for the day? Can we

*

Must have in-depth knowledge of dining room and service procedures and
functions of all positions

*

Must be proficient in all current discounts, promotions, and offers circulating and
the rules that go along with each (i.e., cops/military; birthday treats; Costco gift

cards vs. in-house gift cards)

*

Be able to work in a congenial and mutually respectful way with KM, all
associates and guests

*

Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) in the
market

*

Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)
*

Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
*

Must have the stamina to work 50 to 60 hours per week
Must possesses or obtain Food Safety Certification and alcohol service card (in Nevada)
Must be proficient in basic computer operations as well as Microsoft Office applications Word and Excel
