Syzygy Events International is now hiring for a detail-oriented, ambitious, and creative EVENT SALES DESIGNER.

** Please note: this is NOT a graphic design position. This is an Event Designer Industry position. You must have experience in the EVENTS INDUSTRY. **

Summary: This is a Sales & Design role responsible for managing numerous events a month – from initial sales call, thru the design process including project management of custom-builds, to onsite setup and completion of the event. 50% of this role is SALES and ADMINISTRATIVE: writing proposals and contracts, building sales, networking and client relations, and general project management. 50% of this role is CREATIVE AND GENERAL LABOR: staying current on new trends, researching new ideas for custom-builds, leading teams on-site to make your vision come to life.

You must have high energy and be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as be a strong team-player. You will need to have a strong ability to set priorities, solve problems and be resourceful under pressure. You must be organized, self-motivated and be able to think creatively and quickly. You must have a passion for the Events Industry.

The perfect candidate for this job will be someone who has worked in the Event Industry for 4-5 years and is ready to dive head-first into the creative aspect of Event Design and Production.

Event Sales Designer Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Administrative and project management duties, in order to manage an average of 10-20 events a month
Meeting Sales Goals and actively works to pursue new leads
Assisting in the creation of presentations, proposals and sales collateral
Gather and prepare data in preparation for meetings and client presentations
Submitting expense reports for final review and hitting profitability goals
Manage all aspects of event design and management including but not limited to: scheduling meetings, communicating with clients; attend on-site walk-through; attending set ups and sometimes breakdowns; travelling for events in other states. This may involve physical labor
Perform online research to identify fabulous decor elements or reference images
Internal communication with other departments to proactively manage any issues that my arise with your events and custom builds
Miscellaneous duties: Run errands for the office or event materials.
Requirements:

4-5 Years of experience in the Events industry
A love of making a creative vision come to life
Willingness and ability to transport yourself to events in DC, MD, VA
Ability and flexibility to work nights/weekends as needed – in busy season, this is more than a 9-5, M-F job
Attention to detail
Creativity
Some production knowledge – whether it be a background in theatre design or with other events companies like a/v or lighting
