Customer Service Asscoiate

Our Company is a direct-to-consumer fine jewelry startup brand with four brick and mortar locations. We strive to change the rules of the jewelry industry by offering real gold for fair prices and giving back to our community.
We are seeking an intern with exceptional communications skills to join our Customer Experience team, based out of our New York City offices. The successful candidate will work closely - and gain deep exposure and learning - to our jewelry production, marketing, e-commerce, retail, and fulfillment teams, and getting great exposure to start-up life.
This is a flexible role requiring at least 35-45 hours; commitment per week (including some time on the weekends) in our office near Bryant Park.
We’re looking for a personable, patient person who finds joy in problem-solving, fast-paced environments, and going above and beyond to delight our customers. The majority of your time will be spent responding to users in an email, instant messenger, and on social media, so talent and love for writing is a must! As the first point of contact for our customers, you'll play a pivotal role in linking AUrate with our customers around the world and be the 'voice' for our company.

Well-versed in business software, e.g. G Suite (experience with Zendesk is highly preferred)
Proficient in Excel
High attention to detail
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Ability to work quickly under pressure
What You’ll Do:
Deliver timely, accurate, and professional support to customers via email, phone, and social media posts
Identify, investigate, and solve inquiries that surpass customers' expectations
Organize and tag support tickets to help the team identify trends and report on KPIs
Update and maintain support collateral with the purpose of educating and delighting customers
Make recommendations based on customer feedback that will have an immediate impact on our designs and business/website improvements
Embody AUrate’s core values, voice, and tone in order to provide a world-class experience for our customers
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 months’ experience in a customer-facing role
- Completed (or currently completing) a bachelor's degree - current students welcome to apply
- Ability to work 35+ hours per week in our Manhattan offices, with the possibility of working remotely based on performance
Please note that we are seeking to fill the role immediately and that it is a starting position in a start-up company.
