I am a recent graduate from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. I majored in International Business & Marketing and Public Relations and graduated in March of 2018.
I have had work and internship opportunities that have provided me with the skill sets necessary to excel at future job positions and grow as an individual. The different work experiences have given me knowledge and experience in many areas of business that I can use to contribute to my future work.
Working for a major insurance agency, Aflac, has given me experience and responsibility. Working at Aflac gave me my first experience with work leadership, I managed and delegated tasks to a group of four interns. At Aflac, I also learned how to identify opportunity accounts that have tremendous room for business and growth. I learned how to use databases and how to cross-check associate’s reported success in account servicing. Aflac taught me how to use and look for online tools that would connect me easily to customers.
Working in the fashion industry as a sales intern and then as an e-commerce intern has provided me with more knowledge of databases and systems used by smaller retailers. Working under a Styling Director has taught me how to relaunch and categorize products before transferring them onto a new operating selling platform. Working under an E-commerce Director has given me the experience and taught me how to craft social media campaigns specifically used to target specific consumers. Projects given to me in this role taught me how to profile and evaluate demographic areas that would be opportunities for growth of business.
Working at American Golf Corporation gave me my first work experience. It taught me to be more empathetic and responsible as I operated in a business with frequent and recurring customers. It improved my customer service skills as I was constantly finding myself dealing with difficult customers and people. Operating with money taught me responsibility and how to use management systems; for example, cross checking daily sales reports and delivering bank deposits. I learned about the daily cash flows of business and how to analyze sales.
Working at Premio Inc. as a content creator, gave me experience in online marketing practices. I learned how to utilize search engine optimization (SEO) research to help make my company easily accessible to the public. I also wrote specific content that helped get foot traction to my company’s website. It provided me with experience with doing sponsored ads on popular platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
Each work experience has shaped me into the hard working and persevering person I am today and has given me skill sets that are applicable and useful to any job or office setting. Thank you for your time and consideration.
