The Swimming Swan is excited to partner with The Westwood Club for the Summer of 2022. We’re looking to hire new and experienced Swim Instructors to teach group & private lessons to children of all ages.

Employment is contingent upon the successful passing of a background/reference check and drug screening.

Part-time positions are available, though instructors may choose to work up to 35 hours per week. This is a temporary contract that will run from June 13 to August 5, 2022.

New to teaching? We’ll train you in our Swan Curriculum which covers Parent/Tot classes up to Advanced Stroke Techniques!

HOURS:
Monday through Thursday
AM Shift 9 am - 1 pm
PM Shift 3:30 - 7:30 pm
Each class is 30-min long, with a 10-min break in-between each group lesson. Standard group sizes are no more than 1 instructor per 5 children.

PAY RATES:
$21 hourly
$22 hourly for applicants with a current Water Safety Instructor certification (WSI)

AS A SWIM INSTRUCTOR, YOUR ROLE INCLUDES:
Completing pre-season training and in-service training during the season when required
Virtual and in-person training may be required.
Planning, organizing, and leading lessons with respect to the needs or goals of the clientele.
Creating and executing a structured progression program design based on the client's goals or needs with respect to The Swimming Swan LLC. curriculum.
Monitoring pool-related activities closely throughout shifts and identifying any safety/hazard issues. Using good judgment to determine if patrons are safe and properly conducting themselves.
Directs swimmers out of the pool and/or to clear the deck during hazardous conditions.
Monitoring weather reports closely to ensure the safety of clientele.
Completes and submits incident reports and documentation forms when applicable.
Provides assistance to clientele when appropriate or necessary.
Completes the "Certificates of Achievement" for all youth swim programs, children 12 and under.
Supporting The Swimming Swan LLC. mission statement as well as the goals of the individual clientele or group/team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 16 years of age (note, if under age 18 a signed work permit may be required)
Current and Valid ARC or equivalent CPR/First Aid certification.
Ability to pass pre-employment verbal skills, swim, and in-water skills tests
Have access to reliable transportation.
Strong customer service background required.
Knowledge of swimming fundamentals and stroke development is preferred.
Special Needs/Adaptive Aquatic teaching experience preferred.
