Injury Prevention Professional - ATC - Exercise Physiologist, Binghamton, NY
Temporary role December 2022 to March 2023, Mon-Fri, 7AM-3PM


HealthFitness has an exciting temporary opportunity for an Injury Prevention Professional - ATC - Exercise Physiologist to provide Injury Prevention & Treatment services at our Binghamton, NY area client sites located in Vestal, Johnson City, Kirkwood, Elmira, & Ithaca. In this position, you will plan, develop, implement, deliver and evaluate the injury prevention programs ensuring the highest possible level of engagement, outcomes and client/participant satisfaction. You will coordinate and deliver ergonomic evaluations, shift stretch programming, Line Side Coaching, and early intervention services (Movement Efficiency Solutions) with the overall focus being prevention of work-related injuries. You will provide education and intervention within scope of position and as deemed appropriate within client and OSHA guidelines. You may be required to triage mild injuries and all services will be provided in collaboration with our client's existing resources and programming. You will be required to complete and accurately track and document all encounters with the client's employees and assist in the creation of reports for client and HealthFitness. You will assess effectiveness of current interventions and enhance delivery methods to achieve maximum program results and participant impact. Some travel required; Vestal, Johnson City & Kirkwood site visits 2x weekly and satellite sites of Elmira & Ithaca are 2x monthly.



What you'll be doing:

-Delivers injury prevention services including conducting ergonomic worksite evaluations, coordinating and leading shift stretch programming, and delivering line-side coaching and early intervention services (movement efficiency solutions).
-Coordinates the delivery of the IP program throughout the client facilities in collaboration with the client's multi-disciplinary stakeholders (e.g. Medical, Safety, HR/Benefits, Management).
-Develops, promotes and markets well-being and wellness education programs to support injury prevention programming.
-Collects program data for measurement of individual and program goal achievement, outcomes and results. -Supports the creation of outcomes focused management reports based on the identified business plan goals and objectives.
-Leads individual worksite assessments, root cause analysis, body mechanic coaching and well-being education.
-Performs initial screening to confirm that the employee is an appropriate candidate for Ergonomic Education.
-Advises employee's supervisor if Contractor believes further evaluation by appropriate medical personnel is required in connection with an injury believed to have been suffered or otherwise caused in the course of work/while employee is on duty. Provides prompt documentation of employee consults to the employee's supervisor and EH&S.
-Provides Ergonomic Education services to Company employees reporting musculoskeletal pain or discomfort. -Conducts office ergonomic evaluations (risk assessments) and document recommendations.
-Presents educational sessions to departments.
-Assists employee healthcare teams with job function assessment, incident investigation and care management.


What you'll need:

-Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or Exercise Science or related field.
-Current Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.
-1+ years of experience in athletic training or industrial/healthcare Exercise Physiology.
-Experience and expertise in ergonomics, injury prevention and management of work-related injuries/illnesses.
-Ability to travel to other client locations and to effectively work independently and communicate as part of a team.
-Ideal candidates will have Board Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC) certification or work experience in a clinical environment (occupational therapy, physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, nursing).
-Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.
-Will be required to follow any current or future site COVID-19 vaccination policies including but not limited to proof of vaccination, weekly testing, etc.

Compensation: $30/hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
