Position Overview:

The Rental Assistance Case Manager is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and processing Middlesex County Emergency Rental Assistance program applications.

Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm (6 months)

Pay Rate: $23/hour

Position Responsibilities:

1. Interacting with, and assisting, tenant and/or landlord applicants with their completion of an application

2. Reviewing applications and supporting documentation submitted through an online portal for completeness

3. Communicating through emails, phone calls, and regular mail to tenants, landlords, and other pertinent parties, which may include government agencies and employers

4. Calculating household income for program eligibility

5. Evaluating application package to determine eligibility and amount of housing assistance to be provided and submit requests to process payments according to established program procedures

6. Enter needed household demographic information and documentation into one or more reporting systems

7. Attend ongoing training, as provided

8. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

1. Excellent communication skills

2. Must be fluent in English and Spanish both speaking and writing

3. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients

4. Ability to apply and evaluate applications consistently and in accordance with program objectives and policies.

5. Excellent organizational and time management skills

6. Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive to various locations within the county

7. Experience in customer services, collections and/or federal/state programs is a
