Pub Supervisor/ Line Cook
We are looking for an enthusiastic line cook to oversee and manage our pub. This includes but is not limited to, cooking short order in the pub kitchen, keeping inventory of food items for the pub and reporting to the Chef, stocking, and cleaning the pub kitchen. As a line Cook, you would be responsible for preparing food orders in a speedy and accurate manner as specified by the Chef, guests, and BEOs (Banquet Event Orders).
Responsible for the preparation of food before and after cooking with regards to the standards and recipes of the Chef. Making sure that everything is in order – from the prepping of food up to cleaning after cooking.
Responsibilities and Duties
Essential Job Duties/Functions:
Possesses basic cooking skills and is familiar with preparing cold and hot foods. Reads recipes if applicable and produces a finished product according to the Chef’s instruction.
Knows how to use professional kitchen cooking equiptment.
Reporting for work in a timely manner when scheduled.
Cook food according to guests’ specifications
Able to work independently and produce food efficiently and properly according to event itinerary and timeline.
Prepare and hold food at safe food temperatures.
Ensures guests receive safe food products of the highest quality, freshness, and consistency.
Stores and labels all food products in specific size pans, covers, dates and places in appropriate cooler.
Clean as you go and sanitize the cook line as well as equipment , walls, floors, hoods, microwaves, salamanders, reach-ins, and line coolers.
Promotes team work by assisting in cleaning areas of the kitchen, washing and putting away dishes when a dishwasher is not available (sweeping and mopping, cleaning the coolers, organizing dry storage areas, etc.)
Assists management team in controlling food cost. Portion control, proper storage of food to keep it fresh, etc.
Observes the basic rules of kitchen safety, sanitation and back door safety.
Uses First In First Out (FIFO) rule to ensure proper rotation.
Utilizes various cleaning chemicals in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Completes all opening, running, and closing side work. Check with management before leaving the building if applicable.
Provides friendly customer service.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and/or Experience (include certifications or licenses needed):
Preferably an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts or minimum of 3 years experience in a professional kitchen.
Serve Safe Certification preferred but not required.
Able to work under stress.
Able to work efficiently and accurately.
Able to multitask.
Must possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
Ability to adapt to change when required.
Ability to work with different kitchen equipment.
Must be well groomed and properly attired.
Have a flexible schedule, able to work holidays and weekends.
Must have reliable transportation and phone.
Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., while performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time; frequently walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear; occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Must be able to work in a hot environment and anticipate that scrapes, burns, and cuts may happen, although hopefully minimally.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
