Position Description

Monday-Friday: 3PM-6PM (extra hours possible between 12PM-3PM)

An energetic tutor able to assist K-12 students with and without special needs with reading and math on a 1 -to-1 basis in person or online at our center while providing academic success strategies. The primary responsibility of a Superabilitee tutor is to support students at our center and during ONLINE tutoring sessions reach their own personal academic goals as they grow and reach their highest possible proficiency level possible. Tutors use the curriculum Read Naturally to help students become independent learners and continually work with colleagues and expert teachers in creating a plan for each student. All tutors receive learning opportunities and are provided with professional development throughout.

Responsibilities:

� Provide reading, math and study skills to students at our center or ONLINE while at our center

� Be aware of learning disabilities and willing to learn new strategies

� Recognize the different learning styles and student preferences

� Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students' diverse cultures, special needs, language skills, and unique experiences

� Use active listening strategies to determine the pace of tutoring sessions

� Utilize Read Naturally as the primary reading and writing curriculum to tutor all students and maintain accurate data to monitor growth

� Participate in professional development activities to improve teaching skills and other competencies

� Utilize feedback and reflection to improve practice

� Be direct, kind, uplifting and assertive with students

� Make appropriate recommendations to team about each student

� Provide assistance when needed: answer phones, make copies, planning, opening security door, taking client temperature, general clerical tasks, classroom general tasks.
