Project Engineer – Part-Time

Salary: $40/hour

My client is a high-end, custom builder located in Carmel, CA.  They are driven by three core values:  Passion, Presence and Mastery.  These values are present in their process and delivery to the client as well as how they work together to achieve results.

They are looking for a part-time Project Engineer to help with takeoffs, read and review blueprints and help with purchasing. 

You will also help with:

• Working with the owner and Project Manager, you will review information to ensure supplies are ordered and received
• Organizing many tasks into a timeline
• Assuring that all deadlines are being met and schedules are updated
• Assist in the development of cost estimates
• Answer questions regarding the scope and/or timing of the project
• Monitor costs and project progress
• Maintain control of all project documentation
• Maintain/update project records
• Assist the project manager/superintendent in creating and distributing the project schedule
• Assist project manager/owner in getting building permits for the project
• Coordinate project change-order management, creation and negotiation
• Assist the project team with site safety documentation and coordination
• Assist the project team with closeout of the project 

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or relevant work experience
• Understand appropriate building codes/ regulations
• Excellent organizational skills
• Commitment to exceeding customers’ expectations
• Intermediate level in construction software
• Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook),
