Musician

Small, LGBTQIA+ affirming ELCA Lutheran church seeks musician to lead weekly Sunday 10:00 a.m. worship services through hymns, liturgy and special music (prelude and postlude).  We desire Sunday worship to be a deeply meaningful time and believe music is a key component to that.  Strongly prefer individual to both sing and play the piano (or keyboard).  Flexible about weekly coordination of hymns and liturgy although encourage collaboration (typically this has been done via a brief once a month meeting between pastor, several members and the worship leader).  Seasonal services around Advent, Lent and Christmas (Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve and sometimes Christmas Day if not Sunday). Our services have historically included traditional hymns, but more recently we have added some contemporary worship music.  Weekly pay $200 and special services $250.  Estimate 3-5 hours per week. Familiarity with Lutheran liturgy a plus.
