St. Paul is currently hiring a Children, Youth and Family Coordinator. This position will intentionally build partnerships that involves children, youth, families and our whole congregation in a safe, fun, loving and faith-nurturing environment. The CYF Coordinator will also encourage, inspire, and nurture on-going faith formation in children, youth and families, working with a vision to integrate children and youth into all aspects of the life of the church.

Working under the direction and supervision of our Pastor, the Youth and Families Coordinator will:
1. Enrich Sunday Worship
o Attend worship every Sunday as well as after-worship functions related to youth and families.
o Encourage and facilitate youth participation in worship
o Lead Children’s Message, from time-to-time
o Facilitate the Sunday School program, recruiting teachers and students, procuring supplies, communicating regularly with teachers, and teach as needed.
2. Coordinate Ongoing and Special Events for Youth and Families
o Work with the appropriate church committees to develop, schedule, and lead events designed to connect children, youth, families, and the congregation.
o Coordinate regular middle and high school events.
o Coordinate special one-time events aimed at youth and families. Past examples have included our Halloween Party, Christmas Pancake Breakfast, Game Night, and Talent Show.
o Develop a Youth Advisory Committee to inform programming and decision making
3. Lead Off-Site Trips for Youth
o Lead trips for middle school and high school youth. Past examples have included the ELCA National Youth Gathering (NYG), ELCA Western States Youth Gathering and Mount Cross camp.
o Inform youth and families regarding volunteer opportunities organized by the church. Examples include Project Peace workdays, fundraising, and nursing home visits.
4. Spiritual Support of Youth & Families
o Build connections with families & parents, as well community to empower, encourage, and partner in faith formation. And identify relationship gaps in young people’s lives and fill those voids with church members who can influence the development of faith.
o Create growth and development opportunities for older youth to attain leadership, organizational, worship, volunteer and work skill
5. Administer a professional program
o Create and sustain an appropriate social media presence to inform of events, encourage participation, and celebrate our ministries
o Maintain an accurate roster of youth (and their family members) at St Paul and their participation in Youth and Family activities.
o Work in collaboration with the Church Office Administrator to organize and facilitate the youth event calendar
o Attend Staff and Education Committee meetings.
o Provide regular reports to the Church Council
o Adhere to all Saint Paul policies and directions, including policies regarding budget, reimbursements, and youth safety.
o Refer youth and families to the pastor when in need of one-on-one pastoral care
o Other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge/Experience Required:
