------------/hiringThis position is part-time and will be paid hourly. All Dock Attendants must be available to work
weekends and additional shifts during the week. Shift lengths are generally 6 hours. Everyone is
expected to work opening shifts (9am-3pm) and closing shifts (12:30pm-6:30pm) on a regular
basis. Our manager and supervisors will work with staff to accommodate personal schedules as
best as possible, but flexibility is important.
This position requires a high degree of customer interaction in an outdoor working situation.
Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, reach and lift on a regular basis, as well
as stand for extended periods of time. Must be willing and able to work outdoors and in good
physical condition to lift boats to and from the dock to racks and help customers into and out of
boats.
The Floathouse will operate year-round. Summer, between Memorial Day and Labor Day, is the
high season for our boat rental operations and Fall and Spring weekends are busy as well. The
position generally lasts from mid-March through September, but may be extended throughout
the year depending on business.
Starting pay begins at $15.00/hour. We provide paid training including First Aid/CPR
certifications. We will offer free rentals for staff once the details are worked out.
Job Duties:

comfortable workplace environment. Our employees are the face of the business, and everyone

is expected to provide exceptional customer service, help maintain all facets of dock operations
and help expedite all business operations.
? Customer Service, Safety & Fun. ALWAYS be courteous and respectful with co-workers
and customers. Be aware of and attentive to customers’ needs, both on the water and
on the dock, remaining calm and positive at all times. We are in the customer sevice
business, so answer customer questions as best you can and if unsure, ask for help from
supervisors.
? Dock Operations. Work as a team with other staff to maintain a smooth customer flow
from check-in through checkout, ensuring that safety and education procedures are
followed, customers are properly fitted with gear and equipment, and given
recommendations on conditions and timing. Make sure to keep the dock, boats &
equipment clean and maintained.
? Business Operations. Become proficient with basic online reservation system and
walk-up rental processes as well as point of sale operations; answer phones as needed
and provide information to the public.
Qualifications, Skills & Personal Characteristics
? At least 16 years old
? Physically fit, able to work outdoors and walk, bend, reach and lift on a regular
basis—plus stand for extended periods
? Be willing and able to learn and use online reservation and sales system
? Have clear and friendly communications skills by phone and in person.
? Ability to handle stress and a fast-paced working environment with a cheerful attitude.
? Ability to handle confrontation and challenging customers in a professional manner.
? Must be willing to learn and take direction from others.
? Self-motivated. Able to see what needs to be done and DO IT!
? Must possess a calm and positive attitude
? Previous customer service experience is preferred.
? Previous boating experience is preferred.
