LifeSTEPS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. It was founded in 1996 and currently has over 300 partnered affordable housing properties all over the state of California. We serve several regions from Sacramento, Bay Area, South Bay, Central Valley, LA Valley, Desert, and LA South Region. We work with 90,000 residents all over the state and we’re on a mission to provide effective educational and supportive services to maximize the strengths of individuals and build resilient communities.

About the Position
The Director of Social Services under the direction of the Regional Director of Social Services is expected to design, implement, and coordinate social service activities and programs within assigned affordable housing complexes. The DSS is responsible for the following duties necessary to successfully support the residents served by LifeSTEPS.
Core Duties Director of Social Services
Empower low-income individuals and families to flourish by providing education and resources.
Ensure our residents, specifically older adults to have an opportunity to thrive in place through housing and services.
Encourage individuals and families through stable housing and supportive evidence-based services to build resilient communities.
Maximize the strengths of individuals by providing client assistance, case management, service coordination, and conducting community outreach.
Official Job Title: Director of Social Services
Job classification: Non-Exempt, 26.08 hours per week
Job Location: San Jose, CA
Pay: $23.00 / Hour
Special Skills: Vietnamese speaking preferred
Education and/or Experience and/or License Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
Two (2) years of experience in a similar environment providing social services.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree.
Valid California Driving License and reliable, insured transportation required.
