Job Summary: The Cashier is an integral part of our BBQrew and plays an essential role to the success of the guest dining experience at Phil’s BBQ. Not only do our cashiers collect payment for food orders, they educate customers on menu items, the ordering process, fulfill and expedite food orders, and “bag” takeout orders. A great cashier shows a true passion for perfection in hospitality, guest service and doing things “Phil’s Way”. He or she is an individual who embodies a true commitment to the development of our “fans” through his or her dedication to legendary customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the core values and mission of Phil’s BBQ (“PHILS”).
Perform all job responsibilities according to “Phil’s Way”.
Greet guests with a warm, engaging, and friendly smile when approaching the cashier line.
Show focus and strong attention to detail while taking food and beverage orders.
Use suggestive selling techniques at the point of sale.
Accurately operate and record orders in the point of sale system.
Collect payment for items ordered (i.e., cash, gift card or EMV CHIP card transactions).
Explain our “food pick-up” procedures.
Expedite and “bag” takeout and dine in orders.
Page guests when their food order is ready.
Assist guests in carrying plated food to their table as needed.
Issue paper customer receipts as requested.
Keep cashier, expo and “bagging” stations well stocked.
Possess professional communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and calmly under pressure.
Ability to comprehend simple ideas, tasks and take direction or constructive criticism from others.
Maintain clean and debris-free work areas, floors and customer tables and chairs.
Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Performs additional “side work” as requested by management (i.e., sides, ranch, sauce containers).

Minimum Qualifications & Physical Requirements:
The ability to speak, see, hear, read, and write in the English language (Spanish a plus).
High School Diploma (or in high school pending graduation) or GED equivalent.
Authorized to work in the USA (we E-Verify).
Possess valid Food Handler Card (will certify if lacking).
Possess valid RABS/LEAD Card (will certify if lacking).
Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (will certify if lacking).
Possess suitable communication skills to create a positive interaction experience with our guests.
Must be able to hear with 100% accuracy with or without correction.
Must be able to see 20/20 vision with or without correction.
Possess strong math skills, make change as necessary, and process credit cards transactions.
Ability to walk or stand in one spot for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
Ability to frequently lift objects weighing between 5-25 lbs.
Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, crouch, grasp, grip, pull, and push objects and occasionally climb.
High level of mobility, manual dexterity, and endurance.
Ability to work with touch screen computer ordering systems.
Able to work with headsets, paging devices, high-volume telephone calls.
Ability to work in a high volume and busy work environment.
